25 years work anniversary of our Head of OPS

25 years ago, Erik Poot started at OmniCard (OmniCard and ID-ware merged beginning of 2025) as a temporary worker, carrying out various tasks around card production, such as scanning photos.

We quickly noticed his commitment to the company so that we offered Erik a permanent employment and, after a few more years, the position of Production Manager. Together with his team, Erik further professionalised the entire card production department.

Erik also handled all procurement activities for card production materials and managed the relocation of OmniCard from Alphen aan den Rijn to The Hague end of 2024, resulting in the merger with ID-ware beginning of 2025.

Due to his outstanding commitment and long-term experience, Erik has recently been promoted to our Head of OPS (Order Handling, Procurement & Shipping).

Erik, what makes you most proud when you look back on your time at ID-ware?

"Looking back on my 25 years at ID-ware, what makes me most proud is having been part of the company’s growth and development in the Physical Identity and Access Management (PIAM) sector. Over the years I have seen technologies evolve and the company continuously adapt to new challenges and opportunities. Contributing to solutions that help organisations manage physical identities and access securely has always been very rewarding."

Why are you still excited to work for ID-ware?

"What still excites me about working at ID-ware is that this industry never stands still. New technologies and changing security needs keep the work interesting and ensure there is always something new to learn. But above all, it is the people who make the journey special. I have had the privilege of working with many great colleagues, suppliers and customers over the years."
